Winkle Electric Company recently launched a new addition to its services, the Eco Solutions Division. The division specializes in helping customers save money and reduce energy consumption using clean-energy alternatives. Winkle’s Eco Solutions services include lighting upgrades and controls, energy audits, motor controls for heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, power distribution and recycling services.

Penguin’s opens

Penguin’s Ice Cream & Grill, 5511 Silica Road, opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony this month. The eatery offers ice cream, other frozen treats and hot food items, including Korean barbecue steaks. The Penguin Ice Cream Show Car Club hosts a Family Car Show Day every Wednesday. The restaurant also hosts daily cornhole tournaments, sponsored by the Youngstown Cornhole Game Association.

The eatery is owned by Moon Park, owner of Bodyworks Women’s Total Health and Fitness Center and Master Park Arts International.

The Adult Training Center at the Trumbull County Career and Technical Center will offer personal enrichment classes, beginning in September. Courses include: introductory quilting starting Sept. 8; cake decorating, yoga, sketching, toning, beginning contract bridge and card- making, starting Sept. 13; beginning guitar, self-defense and scrapbooking, starting Sept. 14; Texas Hold-Em 101, yogilates and beginner belly dancing, starting Sept. 15; and introduction to Chinese and line dancing, starting Sept. 16.

Dinner event set

The Shenango Valley chapter of the American Business Women’s Association will host a dinner Sept. 8 in honor of American Business Women’s Day. Pennsylvania’s U.S. Rep. Kathy Dahlkemper, D-3rd, will be the keynote speaker at the event. The dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. at The Radisson, 3377 New Castle Road. Tickets are $25.

NorTech conference

NorTech, a Cleveland-based nonprofit economic development agency, will host a conference titled “Supplying the Global Renewable Energy Market,” from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Meridian Conference Center, 7500 Tylers Place Blvd. The seminar will provide tools and resources to assist companies with navigating the wind and solar-energy industries. Industry experts will provide updates, information and contacts for companies looking to enter these emerging markets.
