2 arrested in Niles drug raid

Two Mahoning Avenue residents were charged with felony drug possession and being a felon in possession of a firearm after Niles police and the Trumbull Ashtabula Group Law Enforcement Task Force conducted a drug raid Friday morning.

During the search at 324 Mahoning, officers found large quantities of heroin and cash, plus crack cocaine, marijuana and two loaded handguns, Niles police said.

Arrested were Juisone L. Hightower, 34, and Aaliyah T. McBride, 31, who both lived at the residence.

Hightower was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service as a result of the charges.

The raid was the result of a seven-month investigation by the Niles Police Department Narcotics Unit.
