4, including toddler, injured in Pa. deck collapse

CONNELLSVILLE, Pa. (AP) — A deck collapse at a southwestern Pennsylvania home sent four people, including a 22-month-old toddler, to hospitals.

Bullskin Township fire captain Kyle Quinn says three women and the toddler tumbled 10 to 15 feet onto a concrete patio beneath the deck when it collapsed Thursday afternoon in Connellsville, about 40 miles outside of Pittsburgh.

Family members say the injured are a woman and her child as well as her mother and grandmother. Two women were remained hospitalized Friday morning with one listed in serious condition.

The family says the child was taken to a children’s hospital in Pittsburgh as a precaution.

The cause of the collapse is under investigation.
