The July 17 wedding of Sulema M. Gutierrez and Luis A. Garcia, both of Youngstown, took place at 2 p.m. at Santa Rosa de Lima Church. The Rev. Gerald DeLucia officiated at the ceremony, and afterward the couple accepted congratulations during a reception at Antone’s Banquet Center in Boardman.

The bride, a daughter of Juan G. Gutierrez of Youngstown and the late Orline M. Gutierrez, attended Youngstown State University and is employed as a member of the up-front league at the Boardman/Poland K-mart.

The groom is a son of the late Epifana Valdez of Puerto Rico. He is employed as a laborer with Freshmart in Salem.

After a honeymoon in San Antonio, the couple live in Youngstown.

The bride’s off-white gown was enhanced with lace and pearls.

Caf -colored gowns were worn by Carol Torres and Maria Torres, the honor attendants, and the bridesmaids, Marty McLoskey; Esmeralda Zoldak and Guadalupe Crispen, sisters of the bride; and Amanda Poracky and Kaylee Lewis, her nieces. Flower girl was Lexi Gutierrez, also the bride’s niece.

Serving as best man was the bride’s brother-in-law, Al Crispen, and the groomsmen were Joe Zoldak, her brother-in-law; Roy, Ramon and Toney Gutierrez, her brothers; and Ramon Gutierrez Jr. and Marchel Poracky, her nephews. Ring bearer was her nephew, Gayge Gutierrez.
