Social Security birthday party Thursday in Warren

WARREN

SCOPE Senior Center, 220 W. Market St., will have a celebration for the 75th birthday of Social Security from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the center. The Social Security Act was signed into law by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on Aug. 14, 1935.

Guests include U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Niles, D-17th, and Mayor Michael O’Brien. Representatives from Social Security and health-care advocates also will attend. Cake and coffee will be served.
