Man robs South Side tavern

YOUNGSTOWN — Police are looking for the man responsible for robbing a South Side bar at gunpoint.

According to police, the gunman walked into Teenie’s Tavern on South Avenue just before 11 p.m. Monday, pointed a handgun at an employee and demanded cash. The man ultimately fired two shots into the floor, jumped over the counter and took an unspecified amount of cash.

Witnesses said the man fired about five shots into the air as he ran from the business and jumped into a waiting car with another person driving. Police in the area heard the shots and responded to the area, but were unable to find the car.
