Mahoning elections board boots Boardman liquor option off fall ballot

YOUNGSTOWN — In unanimous votes, the Mahoning County Board of Elections has certified for the Nov. 2 general election ballot a lengthy list of questions and issues and local liquor options, but it ruled one local liquor option off that ballot.

Today’s vote to disqualify the liquor option for the Buckeye Diner, at 1235 Boardman-Canfield Road, from the ballot came after Thomas P. McCabe, elections director, told the board that liquor question fell 12 signatures short of the required 132 valid petition signatures in Boardman’s Precinct 35.
