A woman died after her car crashed into a house in Girard on Monday evening.

The accident occurred about 5:30 p.m. near Prospect Street and Lawrence Avenue. The lone occupant in the building was not hurt, according to police.

The cause of the crash and the woman’s death still are under investigation, police said.

Motorcyclist injured

A motorcyclist was taken by helicopter to St. Elizabeth Health Center on Monday after he hit a truck on state Route 45 in Jackson Township.

The man was traveling south on Route 45 about 4:30 p.m. A pickup truck hauling construction materials was driving the opposite direction and turning left onto Gladstone Road when the cyclist struck the truck’s back corner, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The truck’s driver was not injured, and the crash is still under investigation, the patrol said.
