Trash-hauler meeting set Thursday in Weathersfield Township

MINERAL RIDGE — Weathersfield Township trustees will have an informational meeting for township residents about a proposed contract with a single garbage hauler who also would provide curbside recycling at 7 p.m. Thursday at the township administration building.

A second meeting will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 24 at the McKinley Heights Fire Station.

Chairman Steve Gerberry said trustees accepted bids from three companies at their meeting earlier this month and plan the meeting for the public to ask questions and learn more about the contract.

Gerberry said he anticipates a vote on hiring a trash hauler to come at the trustees’ regular meeting Sept. 14.

Several garbage pickup companies now provide service in the township, picking up on different days and at different times for the estimated 9,000 township residents.
