Officers arrested a juvenile male late Sunday on charges of drug trafficking, theft, criminal trespass and a curfew violation.
Officers were called to the area of Cannon Avenue and North Cedar Street on a report that a youth was breaking into vehicles about 11:15 p.m.
They found the boy holding a purse and having weighted-down pockets in his pants.
A police officer found a bag of suspected marijuana in his pocket, and police said he admitted stealing the purse from a car. The boy was later released to his mother.
Robbed of wallet
hermitage, pa.
Police are investigating a robbery at the Hermitage Towne Plaza at 2365 E. State St. Police said it happened around noon Saturday.
An older man was about to get into his car when another man approached and asked him for gas money, police said. The older man said he couldn’t help him and got into his car. The other man reached into the older man’s pocket and stole his wallet, police said.

YOUNGSTOWN
Police are looking for the man who robbed a South Side teen of $60 at knife point at Angiuli’s Farm Market on Youngstown-Poland Road.
According to police reports, the 17-year-old victim was approached by a man asking to buy corn Sunday morning. The man then pulled out a knife, threatened to cut the boy and demanded his cash, cell phone and car keys.
The boy told police he gave the man $60 and a cell phone but did not hand over the car keys. The man took the cash and ran from the area.
Injured by ball bat
NILES
Police are investigating an assault with a baseball bat Saturday that sent a woman to the hospital with injuries to her arm above her elbow.
The woman said she went to a house on South Butler Avenue about 7:45 p.m. to look for her husband. While she was there, an unidentified person came out of the house and struck her with a baseball bat.
Officers went to the residence later but were unable to make contact with anyone.
Part of Route 46 shut
Austintown
State Route 46 remains closed until Thursday between New Road and Kirk Road.
The closure is for a culvert replacement, and a detour is routed through Mahoning Avenue to state Route 11 to U.S. Route 224.
