Pregnant woman charged with endangerment

SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) — A northeastern Pennsylvania woman who police say was high on narcotics while in labor has been charged with reckless endangerment.

Police in Scranton say they were picking up 33-year-old Jennifer Pasco on a prostitution charge Saturday when she told them she’d been in labor for about four hours and was using narcotics.

Pasco was nine months pregnant and underwent an emergency C-section to deliver the baby.

Police say they found heroin, cocaine and marijuana in Pasco’s purse after they discovered her lying on a couch in a garage next to her home.

Pasco was awaiting arraignment after being hospitalized with complications.
