Workers tear down Reserve's exterior

WARREN — Workers began to demolish the building over the Olympic-sized swimming pool on Saturday and began to take down the exterior of the gymnasium on Monday morning at the former Warren Western Reserve High School on Loveless Avenue Southwest.

A basketball hoop, the balcony and seating in the gym were visible as workers began to take apart the building. The crew handling the demolition has until Oct. 15 to complete the demolition.

Students in the Warren school system will report for the first day of classes Sept. 7, with the last two new buildings going into service that day. The district replaced 19 school buildings with five new ones with help from the Ohio School Facilities Commission.
