FBI: Suspect in Ohio bank holdup was a bank customer

GALLOWAY, Ohio (AP) — The FBI says a man arrested in an Ohio bank holdup looked familiar to bank employees — because he was a customer there.

Special Agent Harry Trombitas in Columbus says 43-year-old Alan Garrett surrendered Friday, two days after the robbery in suburban Galloway.

Authorities had said a man wearing sunglasses and a baseball cap got away with a small amount of cash after handing the teller a note demanding money. The FBI says bank workers got the plate number of the man’s car, it was traced it to Garrett and a warrant was issued.

Trombitas says the bank employees recognized Garrett because he had an account there.

Garrett is jailed on one count of aggravated robbery, with bond at $50,085.
