Catholic Charities to celebrate 100th anniversary Sept. 11
YOUNGSTOWN
Bishop George V. Murry and the staff of Catholic Charities are inviting the public to join in the celebration of 100th anniversary of the Catholic Charities movement in the United States.
The local observance of the event will begin with a Mass to be celebrated by Bishop Murry at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at St. Columba Cathedral, 154 W. Wood St.
That evening there will be a gourmet dinner at 7, an awards ceremony and an art auction at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave.
Tickets for the dinner are $75 per person, and reservations should be made by Sept. 2 by sending a check, payable to Catholic Charities, to Shellie Sabel, 144 W. Wood St., Youngstown, OH 44503.
Receiving 2010 Voice of Hope awards during the evening event will be Mrs. Terry Supancic, the Tri-parishes of Ashtabula (St. Joseph, Mother of Sorrows and Our Lady of Mount Carmel), the Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton and Sister Ann McManamon, HM.
