Riggs in, Blaney out in the No. 66 Toyota

BROOKLYN, Mich.
Dave Blaney’s racing future got a lot cloudier this weekend.
Scott Riggs has replaced Blaney in the No. 66 Toyota for PRISM Motorsports, effective this weekend at Michigan, according to a story on Autoweek.com.
Team co-owners Phil Parsons and Randy Humphrey used Blaney to get their new team started, then turned it into a start-and-park team. S&Ps are used by underfunded teams that qualify the care for a race, then pull out after a few laps in order to collect the purse for a last-place — or near-last-place — finish.
Blaney, a Hartford native who owns Sharon Speedway, missed five of the first 22 races and has finished 16 times in the 30s and 40s.
Riggs didn’t make the cut for today’s Carfax 400, finishing 46th in qualifying.
“Scott clearly has an impressive racing resume and we are excited to bring a driver with his experience to PRISM Motorsports,” said Phil Parsons, who serves as a co-owner of the team, along with Randy Humphrey. “Dave Blaney has been instrumental in getting our team started and to this point in the 2010 race season, so we are thankful to him and wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
Blaney, who missed the field at Watkins Glen, has apparently left the team. The former World of Outlaws champion, was in Iowa this week competing in the Knoxville Nationals.
