Family gathers in Florida for Litavetz 50th

Robert and Phyllis Litavetz of Boardman celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their entire family recently in Orlando, Fla., where they were surprised with a Polynesian Aloha dinner show at the Polynesian Resort in Walt Disney World.

Hosts for the event were their children and their spouses, Robin and John Rodney of Palm Harbor, Fla.; Kimberly and Mike Klem of Canfield; Lisa Litavetz of Boardman; and John and Vickie Litavetz of Austintown. Sharing the special occasion were their grandchildren, Morgan and Justin Rodney of Palm Harbor, Kara Klem of Canfield, and Brandon and Ryan Litavetz of Austintown.

The former Phyllis Elkins and Mr. Litavetz were united in marriage July 16, 1960, at St. Stephen of Hungary Church, Youngstown. They are members of St. Nicholas Church in Struthers.

Mrs. Litavetz retired in June 2002 from the J.C. Penney Co. after 40 years of service.

Mr. Litavetz served with the U.S. Army in Korea. He retired in 1990 after 39 years of employment with General Fireproofing Co., where he served as vice president and president of the United Steelworkers of America, Local Union 1617.

Mr. and Mrs. Litavetz also celebrated their anniversary recently at the Elkins family reunion in Lexington, Ky.
