A new era for YSU dawns today

With the snap of a ribbon at 4 p.m. today, a new and exciting era will dawn for Youngstown State University and the Mahoning Valley business community.

At that time, the new $34 million Williamson College of Business Administration will open for business with a community open house.

The opening of the expansive 110,000-square-foot building, the focus of special Section H in today’s Vindicator, unleashes numerous assets:

It will become the university’s first official “green building,” as a result of its environmentally friendly design.

Sitting on the edge of downtown Youngstown, it will better link the central business district to the university and will provide valuable resources to the Valley’s business community.

It reflects the best in Valley philanthropy, with $14 million of its cost paid from donations.

With its many state-of-the-art attributes, it will be a five-star learning resource for students for decades to come.

As YSU President Dr. Cynthia Anderson says in her message inside today’s section, “The new Williamson Hall is a perfect illustration of our commitment to providing learning facilities that will allow faculty and staff to provide exemplary instruction and service and allow our students to reach their maximum potential.” But don’t take her words for it alone. Stop by this afternoon to witness the new crown jewel of YSU for yourself.
