Coitsville Presbyterian Church will host a multicultural worship service at 11 a.m. Aug. 22 followed by a potluck picnic and corn roast. The offering received that morning will be divided equally among participating congregations. If your church wishes to participate, contact the host church.

Labyrinth walk

Villa Maria, PA.

Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center will have a guided labyrinth walk from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Villa Maria Community Center. The theme is “Walk in Hope.”

The labyrinth is a tool for enriching the spiritual journey. Labyrinths have been around for more than 4,000 years and are found in every major religious tradition in the world. Sister Therese Pavilonis will offer a brief history and introduction before all walk the labyrinth.

No registration is required, but is appreciated. Free will offerings will be accepted. For information, call 724-964-8886.

Church picnic

The Nativity of Christ Russian Orthodox Church will have its annual picnic at 3 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Chester Long Pavillion, Boardman Park. All parishoners, family and friends are welcome. Logan Thompson of Raleigh, N.C., will be guest speaker on Sunday at Mineral Ridge Church of Christ, 3911 Main St. He is a graduate of Johnson Bible College in Knoxville, Tenn. Worship services are at 8:30 and 10:45 a.m.

Evangelist to speak

Evangelist Walter Pritchett of Portland, Ore., will be the guest speaker at Bridging of the Spirit Christian Center, 3024 Myron Ave., at the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday.

Pastor Calvin Penny is senior pastor.

Blessing of icon

St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 356 S. Belle Vista Ave., will mark the patronal Feast Day on Sunday with the administrator of the Pittsburgh Archeparchy, priests who have served the church and parish vocations.

During the Divine Liturgy, the newly installed icon screen will be blessed. A luncheon will follow in Assumption Social Center.

Ground was broken for the church at its current location on July 12, 1960, and it was dedicated June 4, 1961. The first church was blessed July 4, 1900, on the corner of Salt Springs Road and Florence Avenue.

Concert planned

Sons of Liberty of Stanton, Ky., will perform at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Rogers Assembly of God Church, 8251 Sprucevale Road. The group has been ministering for more than 20 years.

Cafe Redeemed

Cafe Redeemed is planned at 6 p.m. Sept. 10 at First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave. “Island Praise” will feature Leo Ferguson, Decision Band and Harambee Drummers.
