Man’s death probed

LISBON

Columbiana County Sheriff Raymond Stone said Friday he is awaiting an autopsy report in an investigation into an elderly man’s death.

The man was identified late Friday by Vindicator media partner WFMJ 21 News as William Young, 69.

The body was found Thursday in woods behind a home at 16196 Spring Valley Road, Wayne Township. Stone said the body had been in the woods for some time.

Stone said a local bank had contacted his department about odd activity involving the man’s accounts.

The county sends bodies to the Cuyahoga County coroner’s office for autopsies. Final results may take several months, but Stone said he was awaiting preliminary results.
