July 18
Theft: The front license plate was stolen off a car in the 600 block of Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: The rear license plate was removed from a vehicle in the 400 block of Garden Valley Drive.
Burglary: Someone entered an apartment in the 900 block of Cook Avenue through a broken rear window and stole 25 DVDs and food.
Menacing: A man reported he and fellow employees of a South Avenue store have been receiving calls from a woman threatening to commit a drive-by shooting and kill one of the workers.
Bad check: Police took into custody Kristie A. Slepski, 35, of 3904 Avalon Court, Austintown, on a warrant from the township, charging her with passing a bad check.
Aggravated menacing: Police charged 27-year-old Jasmin N. Barham, 1375 Oak St. SW, Warren, with aggravated menacing, obstructing official business and resisting arrest after a supervisor at a South Avenue business alleged Barham threatened to strike him with a chair regarding a decision he had made. She also fought with police, a report showed.
Theft: Ten T-bone steaks were stolen from Cochran’s Sparkle Market, 4121 South Ave.
Arrest: Authorities investigated a suspicious person near Market Street, then arrested 34-year-old Malcolm A. Shoonover II, 62 W. Auburndale Ave., Youngstown, on a warrant from Columbiana County charging him with nonsupport of children.
July 19
Auto theft: A 1980 Cadillac Coupe DeVille was stolen in the 1900 block of Wolosyn Circle.
Theft/damage: A vehicle in the 7000 block of West Boulevard sustained roof damage. Stolen were 10 CDs and two school books.
Theft: Jay R. Weston, 24, of 7057 West Blvd., Boardman, faced charges of theft, criminal mischief and resisting arrest after several neighbors told police they had seen someone entering their vehicles and removing property. Weston also led officers on a foot pursuit, a report said.
Attempted burglary: The dead-bolt assembly to a door at an apartment in the 8100 block of Stadler Drive was damaged, apparently by someone trying to break in.
Auto theft: A 1988 Chevrolet vehicle was stolen at the Southern Park Mall.
Burglary: Occurred at an apartment in the 90 block of Lemans Drive through a rear door. A $1,800 TV was removed.
Criminal damaging: Eight paint balls were fired at a residence in the 4400 block of Lockwood Boulevard, causing a crack to a section of vinyl siding.
Criminal mischief: Someone shot 12 paint balls at a home in the 6700 block of Bluebird Lane.
Menacing: A Hitchcock Road woman reported receiving a threatening letter in which the author implied the accuser would be killed.
Assault: A Struthers Road man told police that after accidentally pulling out in front of a driver near Youngstown-Poland Road, the other driver struck him with a walking stick. The accuser had a bruise on the left forearm.
Theft: Fifty CDs and a guitar were taken from a car parked in the 7000 block of West Boulevard.
Auto theft: A 1993 Ford Tempo was missing from a Southern Boulevard business.
Burglary: Took place at an apartment in the 300 block of Mathews Road. Eleven DVDs and four video games were stolen.
Identity theft: A Carter Circle man discovered his Social Security number had been used to open an account and charged online $5,200 worth of merchandise.
Theft/damage: Someone smashed a car window in the 300 block of Boardman-Poland Road and removed two 220-watt speakers.
Identity theft: A Fredericksburg Drive woman accused her former husband of using her personal information without consent to open a cell-phone account.
Theft: An employee of a Boardman-Poland Road eatery told authorities a former office manager was responsible for the theft of more than $50,000. An audit revealed that $22,800 of that amount had never been deposited, a report said.
Menacing: A township man reported getting threatening messages on an answering machine.
Domestic violence: David G. Carr, 36, of 8190 Southern Blvd., Boardman, surrendered on a felony count. Carr’s pregnant girlfriend alleged he had grabbed her arm and pushed her from behind during an argument.
Theft: A golf bag and related accessories were stolen from a driveway in the 400 block of Meadowbrook Avenue.
July 23
Domestic violence: Youngstown police handed 25-year-old Jose L. Monserrat Jr., 826 E. Florida Ave., Youngstown, to township authorities. Monserrat was wanted on a misdemeanor charge.
Theft: A woman reported $1,000 missing from her Tod Avenue apartment.
Theft: A $185 fabric bar skirt was stolen from Classic Tent & Party Rentals, 690 Bev Road.
Theft: Stephanie L. Shaffer, 30, of 321 Mathews Road, Boardman, was charged with stealing two pairs of women’s jeans from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Arrest: Authorities charged 30-year-old Imada Sudarsana, 7008 Marinthiana Ave., Boardman, with tampering with records, a third-degree felony, after saying she had presented a fraudulent international driver’s license to buy license plates at the Boardman License Bureau, 229 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Domestic violence: Daniel S. Bussard, 32, of 2803 Cain St., Youngstown, was charged after his mother alleged Bussard had tried to punch her during an argument at a U.S. Route 224 store.
July 24
Domestic violence: Adrian L. Jennings, 29, of 834 E. Midlothian Blvd., Youngstown, was charged with the crime after a family member alleged Jennings had struck her twice in the face during an argument about the accuser’s refusal to give him money.
Assault: Officers charged 35-year-old Danny R. Peters, 6110 Market St., Boardman, after a township woman alleged Peters had punched her in the face during an argument.
Assault/criminal damaging: A Canfield man told police his girlfriend, of Shields Road, bit and scratched him during an argument, then smashed his car’s windshield.
Theft: A 15-year-old city boy was charged with stealing clothing from Walmart and released to the custody of his mother.
Aggravated menacing: A Sierra Madre Trail man said his life was threatened.
Assault: A Market Street man suffered a bite mark to his right shoulder and a cut to his left hand after reporting someone had tossed a weed trimmer and bit him.
Theft: A wallet, two credit cards and two checkbooks were removed from a car in the 100 block of Mill Creek Drive.
July 25
Vandalism: Someone used a key to cause $1,500 of damage to a vehicle’s paint in the 80 block of Carter Circle.
Criminal damaging: Dents were placed in a car’s rear quarter panel and on its driver’s side in the 400 block of Boardman-Poland Road.
Vandalism: A piece of cinder block was used to break and cause $700 of damage to a front window at Sleepy Hollow Sleep Shop, 4931 Market St.
Burglary: To a residence in the 4400 block of Hopkins Road through a rear door. Stolen was about $7,000 worth of jewelry.
Criminal damaging: Scratch marks were found on a car’s rear fender in the 7000 block of West Boulevard.
Burglary: Took place in the 20 block of Melrose Avenue, where a 46-inch plasma TV was taken.
Assault: A South Schenley Avenue woman told police her 2-year-old son had been slapped in the hand. The boy had no visible injuries, however.
July 26
Burglary: Antwan D. Chilton, 23, of 967 Katherine Ave., Youngstown, was charged with entering an Old Oxford Lane apartment and removing a 52-inch TV.
Arrest: Officers responded to an assault in the 900 block of East Western Reserve Road and took into custody 30-year-old David J. Lengyel Jr., 141 Woodland Drive, New Middletown. Lengyel was wanted on a charge of failing to appear in court.
Felonious assault: Michael L. Brancho, 43, of 4055 South Ave., Boardman, was charged after his girlfriend alleged that during an argument, Brancho slammed a freezer door, striking her head. He also had a knife and threatened to slice her throat, a report said.
Theft: Six pain pills were given to a patient at a South Avenue care center in an improper manner.
Theft: A cell phone and money were taken from vehicles in the 7600 block of Glenwood Avenue.
Theft of services: Someone dumped electronics equipment and shelving parts into and near a trash bin without permission from the Boardman-Canfield Road business.
Theft: A Tippecanoe Road woman reported the theft of 50 Xanex pills.
Criminal mischief: Someone cut down two trees at an apartment complex in the 700 block of Boardman-Canfield Road without permission.
Menacing: A Squirrel Hill Court woman reported receiving the latest in a series of harassing letters.
Arrest: Danny R. Peters, 35, of 6110 Market St., Boardman, was picked up on a probation-violation charge.
Theft: A man left Pet Supplies Plus, 411 Boardman-Canfield Road, without paying for a $70 chemical filter.
Arrest: Authorities took custody of 24-year-old Clyde E. Hudson Jr. at his apartment, 335 Cook Ave., Boardman. Hudson was wanted on charges of failure to comply with police, disorderly conduct and failure to desist.
Theft: A woman in her 40s stole $300 worth of clothing from Dollar General, 5953 South Ave.
Identity fraud: A Jaguar Drive man discovered someone in Wyoming has been using his Social Security number.
July 27
Recovered property: Police found a 1992 Oldsmobile vehicle near Southern Boulevard that a Struthers woman had reported stolen.
Theft by deception: A worker for Eagle Rentals Inc., 6132 Market St., told officers that a township man stopped making the required payments after having made the down payment to a 52-inch TV and a DVD player.
July 30
Vandalism: A glass door to a building in the 4000 block of Hillman Way was damaged.
Possible theft: An Eisenhower Drive man reported his identification card lost or stolen.
Theft: Hunter Hodson, 23, of 549 Creed St., Struthers, was charged after a T-shirt and a pair of shorts were stolen from Kmart, 1209 Boardman-Poland Road.
Drugs: Police received a report of a possible impaired driver in the 5300 block of Market Street before charging 30-year-old Michelle M. Humans, 66 Wilhelm St., Struthers, with two felony counts of drug abuse and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Four OxyContin tablets were on a tray in her car; also found was a suspected crack pipe as well as a rock that tested positive for cocaine, a report said.
Theft: Charese Grissett, 19, of 662 Magnolia Ave., Youngstown, and 24-year-old Nina N. Reynolds, 940 Kendis Circle, Youngstown, were charged in the theft of clothing and shoes from Gabriel Bros., 850 Boardman-Poland Road. Reynolds also was wanted on an assault charge.
Theft: A man in his 20s stole a $15 item from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.
July 31
Criminal damaging: A pellet gun was fired at a residence in the 6900 block of Lockwood Boulevard.
Theft/misuse of a credit card: A Buchanan Drive woman discovered her stolen debit card was used to make an unauthorized $147 purchase at a Boardman-Poland Road store.
Theft: More than $500 worth of jewelry was taken from a home in the 7600 block of Hitchcock Road.
Theft: Heather L. Gmucks, 25, of 209 Kenilworth Drive SE, Warren, was charged with stealing 12 DVDs from Kmart. Also arrested was 22-year-old Brandon McGann, 3399 Olian Ave. NW, Warren, on a charge of possession of drug-abuse instruments when, police said, a vehicle search turned up two syringes and an aluminum can with suspected heroin residue.
Aug. 1
Theft: Regan P. D’Agostino, 35, of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, was charged with stealing two shirts and a pair of sandals from Macy’s in Southern Park Mall.
Criminal damaging: Numerous scratches were found on two vehicles in the 5200 block of Pine-tree Lane, resulting in a damage estimate of more than $6,200.
Theft: Ninety prescription drugs were removed from a car in the 5800 block of Tippecanoe Road.
Theft: A Struthers woman noticed her purse missing while at a Boardman-Poland Road business.
Breaking and entering: Someone entered a shed in the 6000 block of Tam-O-Shanter Drive, then removed a self-propelled lawn mower and a pair of hedge trimmers.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s trunk lid was scratched in the 5700 block of Sheridan Road.
Criminal damaging: Someone in the 4600 block of Waseka Lane damaged a car’s windshield and a windshield wiper.
Aggravated menacing: An employee of a U.S. Route 224 gas station told police a customer threatened to break his neck after the accuser refused to make a sale.
Aug. 2
Drugs: Erin J. Freed, 20, of 7375 Ranier Trail, Boardman, was charged with drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop in the township. Two Vicodin pills and a small bag of suspected marijuana were found, police said.
Theft: An undisclosed amount of money was missing from a safe at Dairy Queen, 7401 Market St.
Theft: Two meat products were stolen from GFS Marketplace, 7460 South Ave.
Theft by deception: A man in his 40s deliberately damaged a ham at GFS Marketplace, then brought it to a return counter and received $18.
Breaking and entering: Someone pried open a gate and entered Millionaire’s Express, 5955 South Ave. Eighty-nine packs of cigarettes, 28 Ohio Lottery tickets and cigars were stolen.
Arson: Police responded to an apartment fire in the 2000 block of Wolosyn Circle that a township arson investigator said appeared to have been intentionally set. No one was injured, though the apartment suffered an undetermined amount of smoke and fire damage.
Theft: A Boardman boy, 16, was accused in the theft of a $14 pair of boxer shorts from Macy’s. He also was cited on a charge of possession of tobacco.
Counterfeit: Two phony $20 bills were passed at a Shell True North gas station, 5135 Market St.
Burglary: To a residence in the 600 block of Cathy Ann Drive through a kitchen window. Stolen was about $10,000 worth of jewelry.
Burglary: Someone entered a garage in the 1700 block of Lemont Drive and took an air gun, two chain saws and other items.
Aug. 3
Felonious assault: Authorities responded to possible gunfire on Tamarisk Trail, where a man in the 1400 block reported someone had shot at his residence. Eight 12-gauge casings were found, as were bullet holes, a report showed.
