Vacation Bible School at the Austintown Community Church proved to be a high sea adventure.
Nautical decorations covered the church and more than 50 preschool and 200 children took to the sea to learn about God July 26-30 with singing, crafts, Bible stories and games organized by 80 volunteers.
For their Vacation Bible School mission, the children donated $550 that will be shared with Protestant Family Services, World Vision and the Evangelical Covenant Church mission. Sixteen tie blankets will be sent to Africa, new books donated to start a library in China and personal items were collected for children in the community.
