Autopsy awaited in elderly man's death in Columbiana Co.

LISBON — Columbiana County Sheriff Raymond Stone said today he is awaiting an autopsy report in an investigation of a elderly man.

The body was found Thursday in woods behind a home at 16196 Spring Valley Road in Wayne Township. Stone said the body had been in the woods for some time.

Stone said a local bank had contacted his department about odd activity involving the man’s accounts.

The county sends bodies to the Cuyahoga County Coroner’s Office for autopsies. Final results may take several months, but Stone said he was awaiting preliminary results. Local authorities did not release the 69-year-old man’s name.
