5 women, 1 man charged in brawl over Facebook rumor
BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Bethlehem police have charged five women — including a woman who was stabbed five times — with a brawl earlier this month that broke out over rumors on Facebook.
Police said Lianmary Rosa, 18, was stabbed three times in the leg and twice in the shoulder by two different women during the fight around 10 p.m. Aug. 8.
But, by the end of the investigation, Rosa, her mother Maria Rodriguez, 40, and sister Marylian Rosa, 20, all of Bethlehem, were also charged with disorderly conduct for participating in the fight.
Lianmary Rosa told police she got into the fight because of rumors posted about her on Facebook. Court records did not indicate what the rumors were.
Charged with stabbing Rosa are Krystal Ann Espinosa, 25, and Brenda Santiago, 25, both of Bethlehem. Both Espinosa and Santiago are charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct and are in Northampton County Prison under $50,000 bail each.
Also charged in the brawl is Espinosa’s boyfriend, Luis Daniel Vazquez, 28, who fired a handgun several times during the fight. Vazquez is charged with terroristic threats, simple assault, reckless endangerment and discharge of a firearm within city limits. He’s in Northampton County Prison under $50,000 bail.
Lianmary Rosa told police she went to Espinosa’s home to confront her about the rumor and took her mother and pregnant sister with her, according to court records. During the fight, Rosa said she fell to the ground and was stabbed both by Espinosa and Santiago.
As the women fought, police said Vazquez screamed, “That’s it! That’s it!” before firing two bullets into the ground and one shot in the air. Vazquez also pointed the gun at Rodriguez, police said.
Police said no one was injured by the gunshots.
