Warren man indicted for role in crash

WARREN — A Trumbull County grand jury today indicted Carl J. Hassenplug, 54, of 3556 Ridgelawn Ave. SE on two counts of aggravated vehicular assault and one count of failure to stop after an accident that involved a Warren couple riding a motorcycle.

The charges stem from an accident on East Market Street near North Road in Howland Township on May 14 that injured Lloyd and Julie Ware, both 51 and of Olian Avenue.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Hassenplug was westbound on East Market and failed to yield while turning left into a private drive. The Wares were eastbound. If convicted, Hassenplug could get up to 11 years in prison.
