MARYSVILLE, Ohio

Authorities say a man exchanged gunfire with law- enforcement officials after a car chase in central Ohio, leaving the man dead and at least one officer injured.

Sgt. Don Eubanks of the Union County sheriff’s office says the chase began after deputies responded to a domestic dispute about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Eubanks say a man fled in a truck, leading sheriff’s deputies, state troopers and Marysville police officers on a 10- to 15-minute chase.

He says the man drove with flat tires after spike strips failed to stop him.

Eubanks says deputies in a cruiser had to hit the man’s truck twice to get it to stop. He says there was “an exchange of gunfire” between officers and the man.
