1985: Four people who came forward with information that helped lead to the arrest of the man who stabbed Youngstown State University Professor Jack D. Bakos in 1984 share rewards of $6,800.
The Rev. John Polanski, member of the Ursuline High School faculty since 1980, is named director of St. Joseph Newman Center, the Catholic ministry serving the Youngstown State University community.
Summer enrollment at Youngstown State University increases slightly from 5,766 in 1984 to 5,727. In 1985.
