Starting Wednesday, Shady Road will be closed for about 10 days because the Ohio Department of Transportation will replace the deck on a bridge.

The project is estimated at $1.5 million. The detour will be state Route 193 to state Route 304 to Liberty Street to Eastern Avenue to Murray Hill.

The township will install a sidewalk on the east side of Shady Road to the Liberty Branch, Warren- Trumbull Library, 415 Church Hill-Hubbard Road. The cost is $70,000; the township share is $8,000, which is covered by a grant from Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council.

This work is part of an $18.5 million ODOT project to resurface Interstate 80 from state Route 11 in Mahoning County to Shady Road in Trumbull County. The project also includes work to bridges on and over I-80 and placement of sidewalks on the Shady Road bridge. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in August 2012.

Various lane restrictions in either or both directions on I-80 between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. began Monday from state Route 11 to Shady Road for resurfacing work.
