The marriage of Leslie Phillips, a daughter of Don and Jennie Phillips of Poland, and James Perkins, a son of Denver and Barb Perkins of Felicity, was solemnized by the Rev. Bobby Murphy at 5 p.m. June 26 in St. James Meeting House, Boardman Township Park.
After the ceremony the bride and groom greeted guests at a reception at the home of the bride’s parents.
The couple postponed their honeymoon to Park City, Utah, until January, and left on a wedding trip to Fort Lauderdale. They live in Daytona Beach Shores, Fla.
The bride’s ivory silk taffeta A-line gown was embellished with crisscross ruching on the bodice and waist. It featured a modified sweetheart neckline and a chapel train. She wore a string of pearls given to her at birth by her late grandmother, Mrs. Richard E. Mills.
Iridescent royal red gowns were worn by Farra Simerlink, the honor attendant, and the bridesmaids, Linsey Bruce, Karla Plantan, Katie Berarducci, Tracie Baum and the bride’s sister-in-law, Nicole Phillips.
Sam Stille and Roger Haddix shared the duties of best man, and groomsmen were Don Phillips and Brad Phillips, brothers of the bride; Matt McCartney; and Charlie Ward.
Mrs. Perkins graduated from Capital University with a bachelor’s degree in public relations. She is an account executive with Daytona Beach News Journal.
Mr. Perkins earned a bachelor’s degree in human ecology at Ohio State University and is a graduate student at Palmer College of Chiropractic.
