Hubbard pool relies on these ladies
I read with interest the front-page article in The Vindicator on July 10 about the Hubbard Community Pool. The pool does attract hundreds of people a day, from small children to seniors. The article tells about the qualification of Aquatics Director Graig Yaniglos. Yet the article was remiss for not saying anything about two ladies who do more toward running the pool and all its programs.
When you come to the front door of the pool, you will talk to the young lady at the office, Linda Knupp. As secretary, she checks people coming into the pool. As information officer, she answers the phone and tells people all about the programs the pool offers and their cost. She also keeps track of all the employees’ hours and makes out the payroll.
Then when you go into the pool area, the next person you see is a beautiful young lady, Elizabeth Prelau. who serves as lifeguard, swimming instructor, aerobics exercise instructor, arthritis exercise instructor and Zumba fitness instructor.
The people in the aerobics program and arthritis program go to the pool five days a week all year round.
I am a senior (80 years old), and I belong to the arthritis group. There are about 30 members. We have been going there for over 21/2 years, and we have become like family. We love Linda and Liz, like they are part of our family.
