Historical society picnic is today

Salem Historical Society will host a picnic today at the meeting room of the museum, 208 S. Broadway Ave. Those attending are asked to take a table service and a covered dish to share at the 6 p.m. meal.

A program on “History of the Salem Alumni Association” will be presented by Jane Cleveland Mowery, 1972 alumni president, and Jean Kiliman Esposito, 1971 board member.

The alumni association was formed in 1882 and is recognized as one of the oldest such associations in Ohio. Offices and displays are maintained on East State Street under the direction of Helen Potter Hayes, 1972 office manager.
