East WR/DB Mike Thomas verbals to YSU

East WR/DB Mike Thomas became the sixth player from the Class of 2011 to verbally commit to Youngstown State.

Thomas (5-10, 170) is a two-year starter and started both ways last fall for the Panthers.

He's the fourth local player to commit from this year's class, joining Girard WR Landon Smith, West Branch OL Brandon Ferguson and Fitch DL Steve Zaborsky. The Penguins also have two recruits from Western Pennsylvania.

Thomas is also a track standout, having competed on two relays at the state meet.
