Bus crashes into restaurant; minor injuries
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Philadelphia police say a transit bus collided with a police car and crashed into a popular bar and restaurant downtown.
The drivers of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority bus and the Delaware River Port Authority police car are both hurt, but officials say the injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.
The accident happened at Monk’s Cafe shortly before 2 a.m. today, while customers were still in the restaurant. No one inside was hurt.
Police say the vehicles crashed into the front of the restaurant, which suffered significant damage.
Investigators say they don’t know yet just what caused the accident.
