New DNA rules, effective July 6


Effective July 6

Record custodial interrogations of suspects.

Collect and preserve biological evidence in a uniform manner.

Follow a specific protocol for conducting photo lineups.

Effective July 1, 2011

Any adult arrested on a felony charge must submit to DNA collection.

Collections will be done using a cheek swab and sent to the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation for analysis.
