Road projects to force various detours next week

The Ohio Department of Transportation District 4 has issued a list of traffic advisories for next week.

Mahoning Avenue is closed until mid-month for pavement- replacement work at two locations: the Mahoning entrance ramp to Interstate 680 southbound and McKinley Avenue at Mahoning.

The detour for the I-680 entrance ramp will be Edwards Street to High Street to I-680 southbound.

The detour for McKinley will be Whitney Avenue to Hinsdale Avenue.

Until further notice, Mahoning will have various lane restrictions in either or both directions from the western Youngstown corporation limit to I-680 for resurfacing work.

The work is part of a$700,000 project to resurface Mahoning from Meridian Road to I-680.

The project is scheduled to be completed by September.

U.S. Route 62 in Canfield will be closed beginning Monday for about five days between state Route 46 and Raccoon Road for culvert replacement.

The detour will be state Route 625 to U.S. Route 224. Access to all homes and businesses will be maintained during construction.

Also Monday, state Route 46 will be closed between New and Kirk roads until Thursday for a culvert replacement. The detour will be Mahoning Avenue to state Route 11 to Route 224. Access to all residences and establishments will be maintained during construction.

State Route 165 in Green and Goshen townships and Beloit is closed until early September in the two locations for culvert work: just north of Fifth Street in Beloit and just east of Beloit-Snodes Road in Goshen.

The detour for both closures will be state Route 534 to U.S. 62. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained. The work is part of a $1.6 million project to resurface state Route 165 from Eighth Street to state Route 14.

The project also includes replacement of three culverts. The whole project is scheduled for completion by September.

In Boardman and Canfield, the following traffic changes are in place on Route 224 and state Route 625: Route 224 will have various lane restrictions in either or both directions from just east of North Hillside Road to just west of Pinewood Drive for resurfacing work. Route 625 will have various lane restrictions in either or both directions from Route 224 to Midlothian Boulevard for resurfacing work.

The work is part of a $2.3 million project to resurface Route 224 from just east of North Hillside to just west of Pinewood, Route 625 from Route 224 to Midlothian and Route 46 in Trumbull County from U.S. Route 422 to state Route 5. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by mid-August.
