Bob and Hannah Henderson turned, twisted and twirled to music from the ‘60s and ‘90s as the pair danced at the Maag Outdoor Arts Theatre.

The couple was two of more than 75 people who attended Following June’s performance at Boardman’s Music in the Park July 29.

Jean and Tony Castranova and Canfield friends Judy and Tom Buck, and Flo and Dave Vulich took advantage of the cool summer evening and enjoyed a picnic together prior to the band’s performance. The Castranova’s are avid music fans and visit Canfield, Poland and Woodworth to listen to tunes during the summer.

“We like to be entertained,” said Jean.

Songs like “Oh What a Night” and “Walking on Sunshine” were too fast for Poland’s Bill Zouck. He prefers Polka or Waltz. But he spent the time talking with his mall walking buddies John Timer, Mike Drodar and Mike Sanka.

“It gets me out of the house so I don’t have cabin fever.” Zouck said.

Margaret Lorimer and Phyllis Huggins said they love to listen to good music and visit the park’s concerts frequently. “You couldn’t find a place to sit,” said Huggins about the Boardman Park’s U.S. Field Band and Chorus concert and firework show July 3.

Boardman Township Park’s concerts are sponsored by Huntington Bank and co-sponsored by the American Federation of Musicians Local 86-242 and will continue every Thursday night at the Maag Outdoor Arts Theatre until Aug. 26.

They begin at 7 p.m. and are free to the public. Lawn seating and concessions are available.
