Mooney speech team earns honors


Cardinal Mooney High School earned special recognition at the 2010 National Forensic League National Tournament.

Mooney was recognized with the School of Excellence Award in Speech in front of a packed house during the national awards assembly June 18 in Kansas City, Mo.

Mooney students placing at the national competition included Poland’s Patrick Hobby and Carly Carano, seventh place in Duo Interpretation; and Austintown’s Lauren Tonti, 12th in International Extemporaneous.

Michael Rotar of Boardman was a quarterfinalist in United States Extemporaneous and placed 18th.
