Marich-Merkin wedding to be at St. Brendan

The engagement of Jamie Marich and Bruce Merkin, both of Howland, and plans for their upcoming marriage are being announced.
The couple have chosen Sept. 11 for their open wedding at St. Brendan Catholic Church in Youngstown. They will exchange vows during a 6 p.m. ceremony.
The bride-to-be is a daughter of Rosie Marich of Austintown and Pete Marich of Youngstown. She graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree, earned a master’s in counseling from Franciscan University of Steubenville and earned a doctorate in counseling from Capella University. She is a counselor with PsyCare Inc. in Youngstown and operates a training and consultation business for counselors, social workers and psychologists and teaches as a contributing faculty member for several online universities.
The future groom is a son of Norman Merkin of Bethlehem, Pa., and the late Natalie Merkin. He earned a medical degree from Georgetown University and is employed by GMA Consultants in Cleveland as a physician and serves as medical director at Glenbeigh Hospital in Rock Creek, Ohio. He is a board-certified addiction-medicine specialist.
