Canfield swimmers excel in pentathlon
Canfield Swim and Tennis Club captured a first, three seconds and three third-place wins at the Penguins Swim Club’s All Star Swimming Pentathlon. The competition was July 25 at Beeghly Natatorium on Youngstown State University campus.
Matthew Bogen won the boys 11-12 division pentathlon after finishing first in the 50-yard breaststroke and second in the 50-yard freestyle, earning a combined time in five events of 3:32.74.
His teammate Adam Dunbar followed with a time of 3:44.66 and a second-place finish.
Other second-place finishers included Daniel Bogen (2:20.81) in the boys 13-14 division; and Emily King (2:20.92) in girls 15 and Up.
Third-place finishers for Canfield were Connor Brady (4:24.67) in boys 13-14 and Jillian Baker (4:11.59) in the girls 9-10 division.
