Boardman swimmers win pentathlon

Boardman Tennis and Swim club members Ryan Bailey and River Flatley won first place in the boys 15 and over and boys 8 and under divisions, respectively, at the Penguins Swimming Club’s All Star Summer Swimming pentathlon meet July 25 at Beeghly Natatorium on the Youngstown State University campus.

Bailey swept all five 50-yard events and finished with a combined time of 2:06.46, followed by Applewood Swim Team members Steve Moss and Mike Henson.

Henson tied Bailey in the 50-yard breaststroke.

Flatley won the 25-yard butterfly, 25-yard backstroke and the 25-yard freestyle and finished with a combined time of 1:19.94.

Boardman swimmer Mikel Flately took second place in the girls 9-10 division with 4:07.52 and Brooke Bailey finished third in the girls 13-14 division.
