Boardman preschool earns recognition

The Boardman United Methodist Preschool and Child Care Center (BUMP) has recently been awarded its first star by the Step Up to Quality program through the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, licensed child care programs.

Step Up to Quality is a voluntary quality rating system that recognizes those childcare programs that exceed above and beyond Ohio’s licensing standards. The goal of this program is to improve the quality of early care and education settings to ensure children reach their optimal development and learning.

This program also helps to provide parents with a helpful tool, while selecting a program for their children that provides quality care and education.

The center is still accepting registrations for the fall. An open house will be held Wednesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. For information, visit Bump4Kids.com.

The Boardman United Methodist Preschool and Child Care Center has served the Mahoning Valley since 1991, offering an environment that is safe and nurturing to children. It has provided proper practices and curriculum to establish the basis of learning.

BUMP is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The BUMP program works with each child at his or her own level to help develop an appropriate appreciation of self, and also to lead the child in group socialization.
