Applewood swimmers float past Logan


Strong performances from everyone highlighted Applewood swim team’s final dual meet of the season July 28 against Logan.

Madison Ricciuti, in the 8-year-old and under bracket, won the 25-yard breaststroke and medley relay, Amelia Francisco took first in the 25 fly and medley relay and Christyna Reagan earned first in the 25-yard freestyle, 25-yard backstroke and medley relay.

For the same age bracket, Will Linker won the 25 fly and medley relay.

Winners from the girls 9 to 10-year-old bracket were Cristina LaRocca, winning the 25 backstroke and medley relay; Juliette Palusak in the 25 breaststroke and medley relay; and Isabella Francisco won the 25 fly and medley relay.

The 9 to 10-year-old boys bracket had three winners, including Patrick Monahan, who took first in the 25 backstroke and free relay; Ivan Bosnjak in the 25 butterfly and free relay; and Maxwell Obeng in the 25-yard freestyle, 25-yard breaststroke and medley relay.

Winners for the girls 11 to 12-year-old bracket were Maggie Monahan, in the 50-yard freestyle and medley relay; Kaelyn Weitzman, in the 50-yard backstroke, 50-yard butterfly and medley relay; and Cameron Cervello in the 50-yard breaststroke and free relay.

Winners for the boys 11 to 12-year-old bracket were Mark Ricciardi, 50-yard freestyle and 50-yard butterfly; Anthony Bruno, 50 backstroke and medley relay; and Alex Price in the 50 breaststroke and free relay.

Winners for the girls 13 to 14-year-old bracket were Amanda Moss in the 50 freestyle and free relay; Kelsie Stutz, 50-yard backstroke, 50-yard butterfly and free relay; and Abby Wilson, 50-yard breaststroke, medley and free relays.

The 13 to 14-year-old boys winners were David Zaitzew, 50-yard butterfly and medley relay; Adam Price, 50 breaststroke and medley relay; Mario Ricciardi, 50-yard freestyle, medley and free relays; Steve Moss 50-yard butterfly and medley relay; and Tyler Calpin, 50-yard backstroke, medley and free relays.

For the 15 to 18-year-old girls bracket, Colleen Manning won the 50-yard backstroke, 50-yard breaststroke and medley relay. Gaby DeAscentis took first in the 50 freestyle and 50 butterfly.

Mike Reardon was the sole winner for the 15 to 18-year old boys, winning the 100 yard freestyle, medley and free relays.
