Crayola going greener with 15-acre Pa. solar farm
EASTON, Pa. (AP) — Crayola crayons are going to be a lot greener.
The Easton company unveiled its 15-acre solar panel farm Thursday. It’s located in a field behind the company’s headquarters.
Crayola said its 26,000 solar panels will annually produce 1.9 megawatts of electricity. They said that’s enough power to produce one-third of the three billion crayons Crayola makes each year.
The project was funded in part by $1.5 million in federal stimulus money.
