Sewer work causes lane restrictions on Rayen Avenue near Fifth Avenue
YOUNGSTOWN
The collapse of a sewer line that’s at least 100 years old will restrict traffic to one lane in each direction on Rayen Avenue near Fifth Avenue for about a week, said Charles Shasho, the city’s deputy director of public works.
Heavy rain likely caused the 36-inch brick sewer line to fall apart early Thursday and create a five-foot-deep hole, Shasho said.
