Possible arson in Boardman

The township fire department is investigating a possible arson in a Wolosyn Circle apartment.

The fire department was called to 2060 Wolosyn Circle about 2:45 p.m. Monday to extinguish a blaze in a vacant apartment, according to a police report.

Firefighters found a burnt bag of clothing in the bathroom that appeared to be the source of the fire and called the arson team to investigate.

The building owner told police and fire personnel that access could have been gained to the apartment through the front door because of prior damage during a police raid in March.

No one has been arrested, and the fire is still under investigation.
