Man arrested on burglary, weapon charges

Boardman
A 25-year-old New Springfield man has been arrested in Boardman on several charges.
Ian Bryce Davis is accused of aggravated burglary, aggravated menacing, receiving stolen property, possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia and two counts of concealed carry of a weapon.
Police said Davis was found in a co-worker’s Shields Road apartment about 6 a.m. Tuesday. The co-worker saw a “passed out” Davis, who allegedly had rummaged through the home.
Davis began threatening the resident, police said.
The 25-year-old resident of the apartment got the suspect outside and locked him out. The suspect then kicked open the door, causing the door frame to break, police said.
The apartment resident went to a neighbor, who called authorities.
The suspect began to drive away but then climbed out of the window of the truck — the resident had been holding the door closed— and tried to attack the man with a baseball bat, the report said.
Davis fled in the truck, but police caught up with him at Glenwood Avenue, the report stated.
Officers said they found a pistol and jewelry from the apartment in the truck.
Davis was taken to the Boardman Police Department.
