Truck Night set

Truck Night at Yankee Lake will host a John Deere Night on Friday. Local farmers and Truck Night sponsor Nortrax John Deere will have John Deere equipment on display. All John Deere tractors are welcome and will be displayed.

Spectator admission is $5 and children 10 and younger are free.

Participants in the mud bogs, tug-o-wars and rock crawls pay $10.

Volunteers are needed for Polish Heritage Day from noon to 8 p.m. Aug. 29 at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown.

Volunteers are needed in such areas as set up and tear down, parking, crossing guard, announcing activities, serving and busing tables.

Theater workshop

Easy Street Productions is gearing up for its final Little Rascal musical theater workshop of the summer led by co-founder Maureen Collins. “Disney Days” will focus on singing, acting and dancing.

Choreographers Renee Rogers and Megan Cleland will be on hand teaching dance routines.

The age-specific classes will meet two days a week from Aug. 11 -21 at the studio, 865 Mahoning Ave. Children age 4 through teenagers with stage experience ranging from beginner to the more advanced may participate. Classes are designed to build self-confidence and promote ability to get along with others.

Those who participate will join Easy Street Productions on stage for the annual free concert Sept. 8 at Morley Pavilion.

The cost is $50.

Summer Fest

St, John’s Lutheran Church, 1429 Mahoning Ave., in conjunction with Mill Creek Metroparks and the Garden District Neighborhood, will sponsor a Summer Fest from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 14; rain date is Aug. 21.

Activities scheduled include a trash and treasure sale, craft and handmade items sale, face painting, crafts, games and activities for children and visits by a Youngstown firetruck and police units.
