Four of 7 indicted in Oakhill probe booked and fingerprinted

YOUNGSTOWN — Four of the seven people indicted on charges related to alleged illegal activity in the purchase of Oakhill Renaissance Place today were fingerprinted, photographed and loaded in the county justice system.

County Commissioner John A. McNally IV; county Auditor Michael V. Sciortino; Flora Cafaro, part owner of the Cafaro Co.; and Attorney Martin Yavorcik all appeared the county jail this morning.

John Zachariah, former county Job and Family Services director, is out of town and did not appear. Anthony M. Cafaro Sr., the recently retired president of the Cafaro Co., has been ordered to appear for booking Friday. Former county Treasurer John Reardon received a judgment entry from Judge Lou D’Apolito ordering him to appear at the jail by 1:30 p.m. Friday.

The seven people, the Cafaro Co. and two of its subsidiaries, are named in the 73-count indictment handed up last week, alleging criminal activity tied to the purchase of Oakhill, the former Forum Health Southside Medical Center.
