Police: Pakistani man raped teen at Pa. school

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) — Police say a Pakistani man has admitted raping a teen boy while they attended summer programs at a Pennsylvania community college.

Bethlehem Township police say 25-year-old Muhammad Hanif raped the teenager on Saturday in a dorm at Northampton Community College.

According to police, the teen told investigators he left his room to get a drink of water and Hanif invited him in. The boy told police he fell asleep and awoke to the man sexually assaulting him.

Police say Hanif and the alleged victim were both visiting the country on student visas. A community college spokeswoman says they were enrolled in different programs.

Hanif is in jail on $200,000 bail. It was not clear if he had an attorney.

The school is about 50 miles north of Philadelphia.
