Poland 11-12 softball team wins in Missouri

Poland's 11-12-year-old softball team defeated Antioch, Ill., 6-0 on Tuesday to finish pool play 4-0 in their Central Regional in Carthage, Mo.

Aleah Hughes pitched a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts to lead Poland, which advanced to the single-elimination tournament and earned a first-round bye. The Bulldogs will next play at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Poland only allowed two runs in its four games.
