Father charged with murder in Ohio baby's death
TROY, Ohio (AP) — A murder charge has been filed against the father of an 8-month-old infant who Ohio authorities say died from multiple injuries and appeared to have adult bite marks.
Miami County Prosecutor Gary Nasal said today he charged Jason Durig with one count of murder and a felony charge of child endangering in the death of Caleb Durig.
The prosecutor says the boy’s mother, Tara Durig, was charged with permitting child abuse.
The couple from Troy have been in jail since their arrests on July 26, the day police responded to a 911 call from the parents and found the baby dead. Court records do not list attorneys for the Durigs.
A county coroner ruled the death a homicide, saying the infant died from multiple blunt-force trauma.
